Long Life Engines are high quality remanufactured engines that are sold on an exchange basis. You can also purchase them outright with no exchange. All Long Life engines are completely remanufactured in a factory environment using industry leading equipment and ultra high quality parts. Our remanufacturing process begins with a complete disassembling of the engine, which is cleaned and machined. "Wear" parts are replaced no matter what shape they are in. We clean, inspect, and completely recondition the bloc. This included cylinder boring and high precision honing. We recondition the crankshaft, micro polish it, and measure for surface smoothness. All rods are recoditioned. Then, all parts are cleaned and assembled by a highly trained technician. Unlike many remanufacturers, we do not have an assembly line. Rather, one technician is with the engine the entire way through the process. One technician signs off, guaranteeing accountability for workmanship. All engines receive new pistons, piston rings, bearings, gaskets, seals, and expansion plugs. The next part is remanufacturing the cylinder head. All cylinder heads receive new lifters, new timing chains and gears, and a new or reconditioned camshaft. We inspect all pushrods and rockers before we install an adjust them. We then "run" the engine on a run-test simulator and pressurize the engine with heated "break in oil" that has special "break in addatives." We then spin test the engine on a machine and check for oil pressure, oil flow, leakdown readings, and compression readings on all cylinders. Finally, we bag the engine immediately to preserve the cleanliness. We supply a new oil pump or oil pump repair kit, and all gaskets to complete the installation. |
